Overview

This is a work on fiqh drawn from the well-known collection of ḥadīth titled Bulugh al-Maram compiled by Imam al-Hafiz b. Hajar al-‘Asqalani (773-852/1372-1448) of Cairo. Shaykh Daud al-Fatani only translated the part concerning niyya (intention) before prayer.

Manuscripts

This work was of little interest to the scholars of the Patani network until the 1850s and 1860s when it became widely distributed, but maintained its popularity only until the 1880s. It was commonly included in manuscript compilations with Shaykh Daud al-Fatani’s other works Al-Bahja al-Mardiyya fi ‘Udhr Takhalluf al-Ma’mum ‘an al-Imam, Bisharat al-Ikhwan bi-Asbab al-Mawt ‘ala al-Iman, Kitab Sembahyang Jum‘a, and works by other scholars of the Patani knowledge network.
