Location(s): Sungai Tok Gali, Patani (1235/1819), Kampung Lengkandi, Patani (1236/1821), Terengganu (1236/1821), Temangan (1261/1845), Yala, Patani (1262/1846), Kampung Pusing, Yala, Patani (1270/1853, 1291/1874), Mecca (1277-8/1861).

Biographical Details: Patani’s most accomplished scribe. Little else is known of this obscure figure other than the manuscripts he left behind. He founded a pondok in Kampung Pusing, Yala, Patani, which drew students from Terengganu and the nearby area. He was particularly mobile, moving up and down the peninsula, scribing copies of manuscripts he came across, eventually assembling Patani’s first great Islamic library in Kampung Pusing. It seems that no other figure played a greater role in the spread of the writings of Shaykh Da’ud al-Fatani prior to the printing press. He also studied in Mecca.

A daughter of his married Lebai Ahmad b. ‘Abd al-Shukur (fl. 1885).
