Biographical Details: b. malam Juma, 5 Sha’ban 1272/11 Apr 1856, Kampung Jambu, negeri Yaring, Patani. At about age 4, c. 1860, he went with his parents to Mecca. He possessed a large manuscript collection himself (see Abdullah 1995).

He had a son, Haji Wan ‘Isma’il (d. 1957), known as Haji Wan ‘Isma’il Qadi.
