Biographical Details: He was the fifth son of Haji Awang Alim Atas Banggol, who carried on the work of his father at Kampung Atas Banggol, Kota Bharu. d. 6:00 pm Jumaat, 13 Muharram 1353/1934, Kota Bharu, age 60. He taught at his father’s school in Kota Bharu. Later, he went with his students Haji ‘Idris Bukit Panau and Haji Wan Muhammad Zayn to Cambodia, where he established himself as a major teacher.
