Biographical Details: b. 1874, Kampung Binjai, Mukim Binjai Lima, Patani. Both of his parents died when he was quite young. For some genealogical info, see Fatani, 161-2. He first studied at Sungai Pandan, then went to Pondok Beting, and then to Pondok Semela, before going to Mecca to study for some years. He returned to Patani and founded Pondok Bermin, c. 1920. He returned to Mecca in 1373/1953 and returned shortly thereafter. d. malam Khamis, 29 Dhu’l Qada 1376/1957.
